Historical Background

Muruaki Boys Secondary School is a public boys’ boarding institution located in the heart of North Kinangop Sub-county, within Nyandarua County, Central Kenya. Established in 1986, the school has grown from a community initiative into a respected center of academic and moral development.

Over the decades, Muruaki Boys has become known for producing disciplined, hardworking, and high performing students who go on to make positive contributions in various sectors across Kenya and beyond.

This page provides a detailed insight into who we are, our origins, what we stand for, and why we continue to be a top choice for secondary education in Nyandarua County.

Muruaki Boys Secondary School was officially established in 1986. The school’s founding is a powerful story of unity, vision, and commitment from the local community. The late Chief Mr. Machua, a respected local leader, played a central role in the school’s foundation.

Understanding the need for accessible secondary education for boys in the area, he mobilized local parents from three neighboring primary schools Rugongo, Muruaki, and Faru.

Together, they raised funds and successfully acquired a 15-acre piece of land where the school now stands. This generous contribution laid the groundwork for a learning institution that has continued to expand in size, capacity, and reputation over the years.

What began as a dream became a reality, thanks to the resilience and dedication of the people of North Kinangop.
